- Students are required to have successfully obtained a master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.25.
- Students who are applying directly to a PhD program after completing their bachelor’s degree must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Additionally, they are required to have achieved a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0, or its equivalent.
- In addition, the institute mandates the submission of an English proficiency certificate, which can be either an iBT TOEFL score of 91 or its equivalent, an academic IELTS score of 6.5 overall, or a 1550 EmSAT English score.

- There are 4 different levels of Khalifa University PhD scholarships. These levels are divided into Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV.
