Fully Funded Biology Undergraduate Summer School 2025 in Switzerland

The School of Biology of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at UNIL proposes this Summer Undergraduate Research (SUR) Program. International students from all around the world are welcome to enroll in the European summer school. This 2025 SUR Program in Switzerland is open to undergraduate students who have already finished two years of their bachelor’s degree. Numerous research opportunities in biology, medicine, or a similar field with a strong emphasis on biological sciences are available during the international undergraduate summer program. The Summer Undergraduate Research Program is fully supported and lasts for eight weeks. This eight-week undergraduate biology summer school in Switzerland will introduce students to curriculum and research themes. Since English is the official language of many nations and is an international language, there will be no communication difficulties for foreign students studying and communicating in English throughout the fully funded international summer program. The nearly eight-week UNIL summer program for undergraduate students will begin in July and go through August. There are a number of common academic activities at the international undergraduate summer school. Top faculty members give talks on various research topics and career choices, while students present their research. Qualifications for the 2025 Undergraduate Summer School in Biology:
- A background in biology, medicine, or a similar field with a significant emphasis on biological sciences is required of applicants.
- Candidates must be in their third year of a bachelor’s degree at the start of the SUR program, having finished the first two years.
- Due to the intense competition for the summer program, students must rank in the top 5% of their class or have a GPA of at least 3.75.
- Pupils should be proficient in both written and spoken English communication.
- During the whole international summer program, students must be able to participate.
- Students from both domestic and foreign countries are eligible to apply for the UNIL SUR Program 2025.
- Applicants must be proficient in English as the international summer camp is in English.
Benefits of the Biology Undergraduate Summer School in Switzerland:
- The program will pay for and arrange for the housing of all the participants. SUR participants will be accommodated in one of the UNIL organizations in Lausanne in a male/female (mixed) furnished apartment.
- CHF 1,500 will be provided by the 2025 SUR program to cover additional living expenditures.
- At the conclusion of the program, students will receive reimbursement for their travel costs (CHF 500 for travel within Europe and CHF 1200 for travel outside).
